Marbles

Image
May 24th  Somehow, Sunday came too fast. Here are some happy things from today: After some procrastinating, I went to the laundromat to take care of that recurring task. I was able to go longer between washing and had garb to wash from last weekend. It was probably three loads at home. I sorted it into two loads for the laundromat. Being able to do it all at the same time was worth the trip. I’m happy that it is done.  Some general kitchen cleaning took a lot of my time. After that, I made time to tackle one of the boxes in my room. There is still a very large amount of things that I need to go through, sort, find a place for, or get rid of. It needs to become a priority again. There was a shirt or two that were the beginnings of a new donation pile. I did find my marbles in today’s box, so that was good. 😅  It is important to have one's marbles. There was rain today so I went on the treadmill for steps.  That makes a 223 day streak. ☮ Continued listenin...

Treading the Mill

May 3rd Here are some happy things from today: This morning I woke up with a big case of I-don't-wanna!  It might be just what I needed.  Somehow, I managed to get up at least once an hour to get 250 steps in every hour from 6 AM to 3 PM.  😅  Generally that was all I did for most of the morning.  Well, and play games on my phone.  At some point I remembered to pay my mortgage.  Phew! When I finally did get going it was to do laundry and run errands.  These are two things that I am very glad I did.   Then it was time to tackle the quarter one report.  I've been working on it so much, I think I was trying to avoid it this morning.  It is done now.  It feels good for that part to be over.  During the process, I got to catch up with a friend on the phone.  I had questions about some receipts.  😂  The next step as Exchequer is to take care of some updates and balance April's bank statement. ...

Here are some happy things from today: It took a while but the Kingdom Exchequer and I had a Google Meet and seemingly finished the quarterly report.  Then I double checked some things and ended up finding things that should be on the report.  I'll be checking even more things tomorrow.   I'm glad I checked a bunch of it again, I feel better about it now. Then I went home and got my tired self onto the treadmill.  I'm glad I did.  I'm still tired.  🙃   Over three miles! ☮ Continued listening to: Paladin's Grace , by T. Kingfisher. Travel Day

April 26th The problem with going south to find spring is that when going north, it slowly fades away.  However, this is also a good thing because I get to experience some parts of spring again.   We were up and in the car by seven this morning.  The car ride from where we were near the Great Smoky Mountains is a long ride from where we are staying in Pennsylvania tonight.  With stops it was about 12.5 hours.  Here are a couple pictures I took from the road.  The clouds rising from the hills this morning were lovely.  So much less green! Thanks to Silena, I was reminded that hotels sometimes have fitness rooms.  I took an hour and walked three miles on the treadmill at the hotel and got my 10,000 steps.   ☮ Continued to read: No Time Like the Past , by Jodi Taylor. Two March

Image
Happy things from day two of March: Something woke me in the middle of the night.  I don't know what but that something caused dreams of the basement flooding.  This in turn, inspired me to attempt a poem.  It was 3:00 in the morning and the writing needs work.  Still, that process felt good and made it easier to fall back asleep again.  Keziah, Bel, and I went out for breakfast.  We went to the Windmill Restaurant and we all got French toast.  They have the best French toast.  It was time for me to talk with them about selling my house.  After that, we had a good time.   Monday is the day I try to walk with friends.  None of them were able to meet me.  I considered walking in the woods near the house, but all my body wanted to do was fall asleep.  Instead, I watched part of a movie while on the treadmill.  It was a compromise I made with myself.   As a side note, I reached a 200 day streak on Wor...

Monday, Monday

Image
Monday Friday I am having a routine medical procedure.  I think that is why I have had some major anxiety lately.  It is routine, but I need to adjust my diet leading up to it.  Anyhow, this week might be shorter on happy things and intentions.  I completely forgot to consider an intention for this day.   Here are some things that made me happy today: Walking in the grocery store there was a small child, probably near a year old, sitting up but didn't look ready to walk, being pushed by their adult.  The kid was a cutie and the adult was interacting with them in a fun way.  It was nice to see. Journaling and walking on the treadmill are two things that helped me calm down today.  Hugs helped too. The other bit of help I got today was getting to talk with TF.  She is a very Wise Woman and often comes up with the best words of wisdom. ☮ Continued listening to: Nobody Wants Your Sh*t , by Messie Condo.  Thank you for being here a...

Super Bowl

Image
Super Bowl Sunday  Intention for the day: Do my best to remain upbeat as I sort through my stuff.  The goal is to find things to part with. Happy things for today: With the weather still bitterly cold, I walked three miles on the treadmill this morning.  Yay, steps! Looking outside to the cold. Music has really lifted my spirits today.   April is National Poetry Month.  I looked that up after unpacking a poetry book.  I'll be hiking much of April.  I like writing little rhymes and hope to find inspiration to do that, maybe one every day for April?  Anyhow, I sat and read some of the poems in the book I unpacked.  I'm going to try keeping it close that I might remember and pick it up from time to time and randomly read a poem.  One of the poems I read today was “The Barefoot Boy” by John Greenleaf Whittier (1807-1892).  Mr. Whittier is  supposedly a distant cousin?  It's a good poem.  I admit to having to lo...

Intention for the day: to use my words to communicate better. There has been a lot of mid winter tension/SAD/anxiety around the house lately.  Today was hard. Here are some happy things from today: To work out some of my own anxiety, I got onto the treadmill this morning and walked almost five miles while watching most of a movie.  The machine randomly stopped at 4.8 miles, so I decided that was enough.  With my step count complete before noon, rest seemed to be in order. I'd love to say that I worked in my bedroom and sorted through things, but I didn't.  What I did after a brief rest was plow the driveway.  We got somewhere between three and six inches of snow last night and this morning.  I'm still very thankful we have that plow. Sunset Nanni came to visit my room today.  😊🐱 End of day intention wrap up: When I could, I tried to use my words and share some feelings, opinions, and stories.  I have been introverted and staying in my room...

Groundhog Day

Monday Kayden, keeping me from productivity.  Intention for the day: Look for the positive/proactive side in all the exchanges possible. Here are some happy Monday things: For February, I wanted to color my hair pink again.  It didn't quite work the way I wanted, but I took a picture anyway.  The green hasn't completely gone away.  My hair has a few colors now.  I'll try again tonight.  I'm liking how freeing this short hair seems to have become.   That said, it is getting too long!  😅 For a few years Keziah has been telling me how good the food is at the local hospital's cafeteria, especially the pies.  Today I had the opportunity to try it when we brought our friend there for a follow-up appointment.  Breakfast and the piece of pie I got were very good.  Still, not as good as the company (Keziah and our friend). Keziah and I had a task to complete at the studio.  For quite some time we have needed to add my name t...

January 26th Intention for the day: Look for the positive/proactive side in all the exchanges possible.   Some happy things from today: Kayden, a cat, decided my lap was a good place to be today. Three and a half miles on the treadmill while watching a movie.  Watching movies helps me keep going on that thing.   It has been snowing off and on all day.  I'm happy we have the plow and I really hope it continues to be a good vehicle.  I plowed for a while and came in when I should have been going to bed.   End of day intention wrap up:  It was not a good day for me and being positive.  I did try, but I'm tired and a little frustrated.  It is fine.  After some venting things changed.  Sometimes, venting is important too. ☮ Continued listening to: The Lilac People , by Milo Todd. Lazily Productive

Image
January 11th Intention for the day:  compliment someone. Here are some happy things from today: Yesterday seems to have taken a lot out of me.  Still, I got much of what I wanted to get accomplished, between breaks. One of those things was assembling the shelves I got to go on my closet door.  More organization can happen, but not today. The next item on my list was to replace the toilet seat in the bathroom near my room.  After that was done, I took a shower and finished the laundry I had started earlier. My last task for today was more cleaning in the kitchen.  The cabinets are now basically done.  The next step is to finish rearranging what we've been using and to start putting only the things we want into the cabinets.  This process seems to be taking forever.  There are many extenuating circumstances that don't fall under the category of “happy” so they don't need to be here.  😊 This is Mochi the cat.  Just before taking this...
