2026 Happy Blog Challenge

 June 20th Here are some happy things from today: Part of my room is neater.  I'd love to say that I got rid of a bunch of things.  Mostly,  I organized my headboard. I'm hoping for the energy to do more tomorrow.   When I moved a puzzle that I was given over the holidays I decided to open it and see what I might be up against.  The wooden pieces are very unique.  Some of them have some kind of design on both sides.  I look forward to doing this someday.  There was archery practice at Stephanie's today.  The very first arrow I shot hit the gold.  Unfortunately after that first round things went a little downhill for my shooting.  At some point I realized my arm was sore.  It was fun.  Some of the new people were there, but it wasn't as busy as the last time I went.  June 14th Here are some happy things from today: One of the NY Times games that I sometimes play is called Letter Boxed .  I'm not going to try and explain it all right now.  However, the goal is to create words with the letters provided.  In this case it suggested trying to finish it in six words or less.  I finished it in two words.  I'm pleased with that result. One of the people in our household turned 17 today.  To prepare for the birthday gathering I tried doing more cleaning of and around the pool.  In the process I spotted a frog.  Another household member helped me to re-home the little guy to a tree.  That seemed appropriate since Google Lens identified it as a tree frog. There was also a lovely butterfly fluttering around.   There is purple cow vetch growing near the tree where we put the frog.  June 7th Some happy things from today: It is 6:45 AM.  I have been tree for just under 24 hours mostly helping with clearing out the store.  Zed has relieved Gideon and I from helping out more… and I forgot to take a picture.  Suffice it to say that we didn't finish as early as I'd hoped.  Getting some much needed sleep is a happy thing. What I did take pictures of are the close to half full moon.  One around 1:45 AM and one around 5:11 AM.   Moon and clouds.  The moon was still up around sunrise. Around 10 AM I woke up, realized I left laundry in the washing machine at the old house, and decided to unpack the van and check on Zed before tending to my laundry.  On my way outside I saw that someone had unloaded the van for me.  It had Keziah’s plants in it so I had left it open for the plants to get air.  It was kind for house members to unload it for me.  When I got to town and headed to the store I got a group message as...

 June 4th Happy Thursday things: The work week is over.  Work went well for me.  It is always a good night when I like what I am doing.   After work I ate and headed off to DIY Craft & Thrift to help more with the clean up and packing.  My tired brain needed a little more guidance than I would have liked.  They are down to just big furniture/ fixtures and little things that had been forgotten or behind something.  Saturday is the last day, everything has to be out or is left behind then.  I think it will be good. Keziah has a large table with plants at her store.  Some she sold or tried to, others will be coming home. My mom used to work at a department store called Zayre.  All during this business adventure that Keziah has been on, things from Zayre have popped up.  Today there was a sticker on the floor from some random donation.  I like to think it is a sign that my mom is watching over us.  March 28th Some happy Saturday things: This morning's early morning sky: A bunch of cleaning happened first thing.  Some housemates with allergies were out of the house so I took the opportunity to do some deep cleaning.  The former owners of the house left some cleaners behind that they are allergic to and I was able to finish some of that up.   Stephanie came over and we went on a nice walk in the woods.  This is the same trail system I walked on a few weeks ago.  There is much less snow and some things look a lot different.  We took a different turn and ended up walking longer than planned.  It was cold today, but nice while walking. Ice needles.  There was a No Kings protest that we attended after.  There were lots of people and some good entertainment.  I don't want to get political on my blog, but I'm happy that it is something that we are still able to do in this country.
