2026 Happy Blog Challenge

  May 26th Tuesday’s happy things: After work I went to DIY Craft and Thrift again to help Keziah and friends get the store ready to open tomorrow.  Only three more days and it will be closed indefinitely while they restructure the business.  I was exhausted from working all night. I rallied and some general cleaning up and vacuuming until it was time for me to go home.   One of Keziah’s friends came by to visit.  She is very pregnant and so the three of us had a conversation about pregnancy and childbirth.  Keziah was remembering being three and a half-ish when I had Bel.  This led to conversations about grandparents.  This led to tears as Keziah and I looked at each other remembering my mom.  It was happy memories bringing on tears of nostalgia and missing someone who is no longer with us.  Apparently my mom was the best Gramma ever.  Wednesday  Intention for the day: Be joyful/happy. Happy middle of the week!  Here are some happy things from today: Work went well.  No weird feeling of “not well” in the middle of the shift.  The few people who knew about it asked how I was doing, that was nice. The SCA Barony I live in owns three cash registers.  We have them specifically for the large event we had a week or so ago.  This year it seemed none of them worked correctly.  I got one of those working at the event.  I have no idea what I did, it just seemed to work when I turned it on.  One of the others I “fixed” today.  It was a simple fix, but I'm still happy with myself for not giving up.  The third one doesn't seem to even turn on.  I'll play with that more another day.  January 15th Intention for the day:  To learn someone's name at work.   My happy things from today are: The regular work week is over.  Towards the end of the shift I worked with someone helping train them in Hazardous Materials.  I'm hopeful that there are enough people trained to have someone working there every day.  At home, Corvidae and I started talking about the things we want to plant.  We are planning to get things from the old house tomorrow to start seeds.  Sometimes it seems wrong to call our former home the “old” house, but it was built in the 1700's, so it is old.  I don't know where things will get planted, but there will be some kind of garden.  For now it will be starting seeds. Before my nap/sleep time I colored.  It was time to add color to the trees.  I like how it is coming out and I'm glad I found this coloring book again.  January 14th Intention for the day:  My default for work days will be to learn someone's name at work.  Perhaps when I am more in a routine I'll come up with other ideas.  I like this one though.   My happy things from today are: Work went well.  My mood was much better today than it was yesterday.  I even told my supervisor to smile.  😁 This week I remembered to go to the old house and take the trash down to the street.  Trash pickup is there tomorrow and we forgot last week.  As I left the old house I realized I had missed some bags, that I will have to wait for another day.  The Verizon outage today made it difficult for Gideon to get in touch with anyone for a ride home from school.  None of us are sure of the timing with the occasional after-school activity thrown in since the move.  I ended up picking him up today.  It was nice to see him.  I feel like I haven't seen him as often since the move....

 January 13th Intention for the day:  Once again I forgot to do this.  However, I did learn someone's name, so I am calling it a win. Here are some happy things from today: It was a day at work where I am happy that it is over.  It wasn't bad, just busy and I am tired and sore.  Making it through the work day was an accomplishment.  At home I relaxed before doing some dishes.  Kayden helped me relax by sitting on me.  I rewarded myself for doing dishes with a bowl of ice cream.  😋 To end the day in a good way I heard from TF and got to talk with her on the phone for a few minutes.  I also colored more in my coloring book.  Writing this also helps me finish my day well.  January 8th Intention for the day: Same as the last two days…As I go through my work day it is my intention to learn someone's name I don't already know.  I also intend to do my best to keep a happy attitude throughout. Here are my happy things from today: After falling asleep again after the alarm went off I had to rush to get ready for work.  I made it to work on time with no belt, no FitBit, and not as much food as usual.  But I was on time!   I got to see Nanni and Winston, two of the cats.  Nanni stayed high on the shelf, but Winston wanted pets. My inability to stay awake now has convinced me to finish this up.  I've been working on this for well over three hours, including sleep time.  So a couple of pictures is what I have.  With Kayden on my lap, I avoided getting off the couch for about five minutes.  I pulled out the coloring book and started coloring with my markers.  I stopped when I kept falling asleep.  End...
