Long Day

July 6th Some happy things from today: The other day I decided to download a new app.  It is a self-care app called Finch .  Corvidae uses it.  It reminded me that when I started my blog this year I was trying to start my day with intentions.  The app reminded me by giving me an affirmation to repeat to myself, “I am free to create my own happiness.”  I thought I would share that as it could come close to an intention if worded differently.  This morning I worked an extra shift.  It was not a full shift, only 7 hours and 25 minutes.  It was good though, I'm glad I went in.  I'm also glad I napped this morning after I got home. In the yard by the pool I noticed that the lilies have bloomed.  They are Chicago sunrise daylilies according to Google Lens.   In an attempt at getting the most out of the air conditioner I cut the blackout curtain and used it to block the light and hopefully better insulate the area around the unit....

March 9th Happy Monday things: It is truly starting to feel like spring, even with so much snow on the ground.  Keziah and I did some general cleaning up this morning and windows were opened.  The sun shone brightly and snow melted into small streams on the driveway.  The warm day made for a beautiful time to go out walking with a friend.  Amy and I met at Livingston Park to walk around the pond a few times.  Both of us remembered to bring our micro spikes and within five minutes we were sitting at a picnic table putting them on.  That helped to increase our safety and speed while we walked.  Amy and I haven't been able to get together for a bit and we had a nice visit. Things kept happening so I stayed up much too late for me on a work night so that Bel could cut my hair.  It has been about eleven months since my last haircut and I've been getting tired of hair on my face.  It is almost St. Patrick's Day and time to go green. ...
