June 16th Here are some happy things from today: This one is kind of weird.  I remembered to trim my nails before going to work last night.  When they get too long, they get in my way and break, often in a painful way.  I'm happy I thought to cut them. It was a fast paced work night.  I worked almost twelve hours and it didn't feel like more than ten.  😅  My step count is just under 18,000 for the day so I guess I moved around a bunch.  Some plants I noticed today in the yard include what Google Lens thinks is a Deutzia crenata or Crenate pride-of-rochester.  It is a deciduous shrub and the bees seem to like it. Another plant Google Lens thinks is a primrose.  It is a volunteer in a place that I will most likely need to pull or relocate near the whorled loosestrife.  I'll need to pull or move some of that as well.  I'm already behind on lawn maintenance here, but I'm enjoying learning about some of what is growing.  The last p...

March 12th Thursday's happy things: Yesterday there was a surprise inspection in Hazardous Materials.  I didn't know it was happening.  From what I understand, we did okay.  I feel like the area has gone through a lot of change over the last year or so, for the better.  I'm happy that the inspection went okay.   A while back I planted a bunch of bulbs and put them outside in storage containers.  Silly me, I didn't put any drainage into the containers.  When I saw them today, the snow had melted and there was at least four inches of water on top of the soil.  I did what I could to drill holes and pour off some of the water.  Hopefully it was enough.  I'll try to keep checking them over the weekend.  The good news is, some of the bulbs do seem to be growing.  🌷 Some of the seeds I planted are sprouting too.  The thyme, basil, and cilantro are up.  The parsley hasn't yet, but I'm hopeful.   ☮ Contin...

Title Me Tired

March 7th Here are some happy Saturday things: It was a day for me to stay home and be lazy.  Most of the things I wanted to do were forgotten.  I’m okay with that.   My step count wasn't forgotten.  On the treadmill I walked over three miles, finished one movie, and started another.   Corvidae and I made baby steps at getting the tiny greenhouse ready for starting some seeds.  It is set up and some trays are washed.  Seeds that we want to start are separated from the rest.  The previous owners also left seeds here.  There are so many morning glories!  I'm looking forward to planting flowers when the earth thaws. Sunset! ☮ Continued listening to: Yellow Bird , by Sierra Crane Murdoch. Continued reading: A Trail Through Time , by Jodi Taylor.   Thank you for being here and being part of my daily happy things. Stay safe!
