Intention for today:
After being awake for about four hours I was feeling like I was lacking all motivation. Then I thought about how I had already done a few dishes, had breakfast, gotten dressed, and paced around enough to have over 3000 steps. So what if I had fallen down some random internet research rabbit holes in the process. It was still early in the day, things could get done. Maybe I could set an intention for my day and that could help me be more productive in one way or another.
My goals and intentions for the day are to joyfully accomplish some of my todo list. If the item is hard to do joyfully, find a way to rejoice or celebrate whatever progress was made toward that goal.
Happy things from today:
- The freshly fallen snow was very pretty this morning. The following pictures were taken close to the same time as yesterday's sunrise. What a difference a day makes!
- A trip to DIY Craft & Thrift lifted my spirits some. I picked up some broken ceramic, cups and knitting needles. It was nice to spend a little bit of time with some people too.
- To help ease some frustration I tried going for a walk in the backyard. I had hoped to go beyond the tree line, but the snow was so deep it was too hard to walk through. I tried to make a snow angel. I couldn't get up without putting my hands through my angel's body! It was a nice rest in the angel indentation before trudging back through the snow to get back to the house.

- About a week ago I purchased an engraver at Harbor Freight. This evening I used it on some of the things I got at DIY Craft & Thrift today. I'm liking the results.

Intention wrap up:
That last bit that I wrote of my intention, I should have re-read sooner –’celebrate whatever progress was made toward that goal.’ The Jeep with the plow kept getting stuck. Eventually it was bad enough that I gave up and let the Jeep sit in the middle of the driveway. The frustration was huge. However, I had made progress towards getting the driveway plowed, it just wasn't finished. After re-reading the above, I should have tried harder to celebrate what progress I had made. Much of the driveway was cleared, not widened yet, but cleared. When I was less frustrated I was able to ask the question, how can we make plowing better next time/year? Bel had a different answer than I expected, “Fix the 4-wheel drive.” 😂 Things that helped me be less frustrated: going to DIY and thinking about crafts, walking in the snow, and listening to Tibetan singing bowls. Drinking water also seemed to help lower my frustration level. I should drink more.
