Moving Hands
Monday February 16th
Intention for the day: To do my best to joyfully move through the day. If things become stressful I intend to retreat somewhere and find something to do to relieve the stress that is not always my cell phone.
Here are some happy things from today:
- This morning I took ten minutes to use the Baoding balls I got yesterday as well as the hand message things that came with it. They felt very nice on my hands. I tend to spend a fair amount of time (at least it feels like a lot of time) massaging each hand with the other. I like that I am able to use something other than one aching hand to massage the other aching hand.
- Corvidae and I went shopping for dirt today. Unfortunately, it was outside and frozen. Tomorrow it will be thawed out and if I am not exhausted after work I might get some bulbs planted. I'm hopeful that if I get them outside, at least some will grow.
- While we were out I picked up a cordless micro engraver. I want it to engrave something onto the cheap silverware I got to bring to SCA events. Ideally I will find something that I can engrave that will look okay and be obviously mine. I practiced briefly on the bottom of my metal pill container. I want to practice more on something before I move on to silverware, but I don’t know what.
- Instead of the treadmill or the woods I walked in circles around the house. It was getting late enough that I thought I would be getting ready for bed. When I got back inside I did dishes and other things before writing this and trying to relax for sleep. Fresh air is lovely. The other set of Baoding balls were delivered while I was outside. I'm pleased to say that I was able to use them, slowly, while I walked and I didn't drop them!

- Sunset while I write this.
End of day intention wrap up: There were a few times when I started to feel stressed for whatever reason. Instead of letting it build up, I removed myself from the situation, and not with my phone. I don’t even remember what happened, but I do remember thinking that I would just do something else instead.
