Moving Prep

 January 2nd

Intention: to make every attempt to listen better to those around me.

How this might look: respond by repeating or rewording what was said to ensure understanding.

Here are some happy things from today:

  • One of the storage boxes has been picked up.  Zed and I (mostly Zed) worked on breaking up some of the ice on the driveway.  What we hadn't done before the driver got here was clear off the roof of the container.  Eventually a ladder was found and I volunteered to go onto the roof and shovel the snow and ice off.  It was kind of fun.  Getting up there and back down on the ladder was not as much fun, but up there shoveling was good.  I asked Zed to take a picture, but I forgot to ask him to send it to me.

Ready to go!

  • Some productivity happened when I got some things packed.  Friends are coming in the morning to help me move my things to the new house.  Hopefully I'll be ready.  I've been very tired today so I would get something done, break, then get something done… there may have been more breaks than getting things done.  I can't count the amount of times I had a cat nap.
  • I brought a few things to the new house this evening and stayed for dinner.  It was good to see some of the people.
  • Moonrise and sunset.

Concerning my intention, I didn't have a lot of interaction with people today.  I hope I listened well.  There were some important interactions about another and their health that I am trying to internalize and remember for the future.

Continued listening to: The Killing at Crowswood Castle, by Fran Smith.

Thank you for being here and being part of my daily happy things. Stay safe!
