Birka Ends

 January 25th

Intention for the day: Look for the positive/proactive side in all the exchanges possible.  I like this one and I think I will hold on to it for a while so it becomes more of a habit.

Here are some happy things from today:

  • Today there is the beginning of a snow storm.  It is named Fern.  I must say here that Fern sounds more like a spring or summer storm than a winter one.  Anyhow, many people left the event early to avoid getting stuck in the snow.  A few others extended their stay in the area to remain safe and not travel during the storm.  The event ended much earlier than scheduled because of this.  That means my ride and I were able to leave sooner, before the snow got terribly deep.  I have not heard of anyone having any serious issues driving home.  Hopefully it will remain that way.
Yesterday this room was full of vendors and shoppers.

  • With the deep freeze and large amounts of snow coming, Bel and Corvidae brought the chickens to the new house.  For now, they are in the big building I'm calling the Firehouse.  It is the building the firetrucks were in when we viewed the house before Zed and Keziah purchased it.  It is painted a fire engine red type color.
Snow.

Chickens!  I think my phone must have gotten wet in the snow making the picture blurry.

  • Unpacking and general resting happened before I went out in the snow with Bel and a housemate. I got to ride in the jeep while plowing, then I got to plow the driveway some myself.  It was fun for a while, but it is also a lot of work. It is not anywhere near as much work as shoveling though!
Thanks to Bel for taking this picture.  That is me in the mirror.

End of day intention wrap up:  When I try to think of positive things to say, I feel better about my conversations and interactions with people.  I feel like I should add that I don't think that I have always been a negative person, I think I usually try to look for positives when talking to others about their issues or whatever.  I don't tend to look for the positive things with my own issues.

Thank you for being here and being part of my daily happy things. Stay safe!
