Happy 2026
You found it!
January 1st.
Welcome to a new year of me looking for happiness and gratitude within my day. Thank you for being here. I'm going to try to make a small change to my life habits and I'm going to attempt to bring that to my daily blog.
A recent video I saw was about habits to add to a morning to make a happier life. One of these suggestions was to start the day with an intention. That should mean something mindful or positive. It might turn into a goal for me as I tend to be practical so my mind works that way more. One intention for today was going to include getting out for a walk. As the wind blows and the temperature drops, I'm debating that. That is also more like a goal. The other was to do something different that I might not otherwise do. Writing an intention down before my day starts and trying to follow-through will be part of this. I hope you join me as I attempt to build this new habit.
The above was written after a nice breakfast out with Keziah and two of her friends. We went to The Friendly Toast. They had eggnog French toast on the menu this week that was very good.
Hopefully I will find a system for adding my intentions in a different way tomorrow. Here are some other happy things from today:
- I got outside for a walk with some friends. It was cold, about 5° with the windchill. Walking with friends and conversation helped it all seem… less cold.
- After we went out to eat at The Red Arrow Diner. Breakfast all day! I chose a healthier breakfast meal and got an omelet.
- It was a good day that left me quite tired. I've been drifting off to sleep between writing this for a few hours now. The intention I set earlier today was to do something I wouldn't normally do. In this case that thing was to send a friend request to someone on Facebook. Every once in a while I do this. There is someone that has been popping up on there and I finally pushed the virtual button to request them as a friend. As a bit of an introvert, or maybe I'm just shy, that part of Facebook comes hard for me.
- Thank you to --K for the comment. Comments are nice to see and this one also confirms that the link worked. 😊
